I always love it when I have a couple daring enough to get up before sunrise to meet for a shoot. The light is fantastic and there is never anyone around. I had a great time with Jennifer and Zoltan in Piers Park in East Boston. I love the view looking back into Boston and this couple made it easy on me to make some great images. Here are a few sneak peeks and some words from the couple about their story!
How did you two meet?
We met at work, but really through a mutual friend. We are actually attending that friend's wedding this weekend, and he's marrying someone HE met also at the same office! Something must have been in the water...
Tell us the proposal story~
I was very anxiously awaiting the proposal for 2-3 weeks before he did it. We had Thanksgiving coming up, and I knew we would be with our whole family (his and mine), and it would be so great to celebrate with them. I literally expected him to be on one knee around every corner. By the time Thanksgiving day came around, I was completely distracted by the day, and forgot about the proposal completely. We were at my parents house and at about 11am, before anyone else showed up, I popped a bottle of good champagne (an annual Thanksgiving tradition) and at that moment, Zoltan called me upstairs to "help him with something". Immediately, I figured he must have spilled something or broken something up there and he needed my help to clean it up. As I entered the little room we stay in at my parents, I saw a million tiny candles, roses and MORE champagne! I was TOTALLY surprised and completely blown away. Shortly thereafter, the rest of my family and his arrived and we had the BEST day celebrating and starting on the wedding plans.
What details are you most excited about for your wedding? EX. cake, vendors, location, etc.
Very excited about the venue and the time of year. Harrington Farm is beautiful and I have always really loved the holiday season. Christmas time is magical, and the time of year made the color scheme very easy! The barn feel of Harrington Farm blends perfectly with the rustic Christmas theme.
Where are you getting married? St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jefferson, MA
Where is the reception? Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA
What look were you going for in your engagement session?
Nothing in particular. I guess fall casual. We love living in East Boston and we spend a lot of time in that park. I'm excited to have some professional photos with the city in the background. It's such an incredible view of the city we love.
Do you have any tips or advice for couples getting ready for their session?
Try not to do the same pose in every photo. Relax and the pictures will look more natural.
